Trauma Sensitive Yoga Course

4 Week Face-To-Face Trauma Informed Yoga Course.  

This course invites participants to learn skills including mindfulness, meditation, using the breath to regulate autonomic arousal, improving body awareness, distress tolerance and developing insight, so you can be more present, aware and meet your own needs. Beneficial for individuals with a history of trauma, symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, chronic pain and stress, amongst others, to increase body awareness and ability to safely inhabit your body. A useful adjunct to individual psychotherapy or as a stand alone treatment. This is an inclusive space, focused on collective healing.

Participants in the Trauma Sensitive Yoga course are not expected to discuss their histories, but can book in for individual Counselling at any time.

What To Expect

  • A free 15 minute phone conversation to check in, talk about expectations and answer any questions you may have (not compulsory).

  • Small group (maximum 4 participants). An inclusive, supportive space with agreed upon collective commitments regarding how we engage in the group space.

  • 4 x weekly sessions (50 minutes) including trauma-informed movement, breath, awareness, self-regulation and self care practices.

  • Individual and group reflection processes. Some homework tasks for in between sessions.

  • Flexibility and choice in how you participate.

  • No prior yoga experience is necessary.
