Rebates
Explained

  • You may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for your appointment. Your GP Psychiatrist or Paediatrician may write you a referral under a treatment plan. Currently there are 3 different referral plans that are eligible to receive a Medicare rebate:

    • Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

    • Eating Disorder Treatment Plan (EDP)

    • Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan

The practice management software I use will process your Medicare rebate following your appointment for your convenience.

  • If you have private health insurance cover, you may be able to claim a portion of the session fee from your private health fund. You will need to confirm with your individual cover whether psychology services receive a rebate, the amount of rebate and for how many sessions.

  • No, you can only claim from one or the other.

Work and Development Orders (WDO)

I also support clients with WDOs, to assist individuals to pay off eligible fines, by accessing much needed mental health treatment. In extenuating circumstances when financial hardship is a barrier to treatment, you may be eligible for a WDO. To access the WDO program you will need a GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan.
